Parisian Detox

For my 19th Birthday, myself and my boyfriend traveled to Paris, France for a detoxing get away. We stayed in the Disneyland resort, but it was only a 45 minutes train away from the French capital, Paris. During our time in France, we got to visit both of the Disneyland parks, venture to the Eiffel Tower and explore the beautiful Parisian city. On our first day, we traveled by train into France and made some stops on long the way to pick up some cheap alcohol and some gifts for our families. We arrived in Disneyland quite late at night that day and we decided to do some late night exploring of the Disney village. The village is so pretty as it is currently decorated with a Christmas theme and lots of bright lights. There are so many shops and restaurants in the village, as well as bars and outdoor stages.

On our first full day in France we went into the Walt Disney Studios park. This was super fun, however the queuing times were extortionate and we waited almost an hour and a half for some rides. Although, there was a silver lining as we were caught on a ride that had to be evacuated for safety reasons and I complained about my annoyance to the duty manager and we were kindly given free fast passes that allowed us to que jump on all the rides. Yes...I am that typical 'complains to the manager' person.

The third day, we took the RER A train into Paris from the Disney Resort. We got off the train in Chatlet-Les-Halles, this is a small town on the outside of Paris. We walked from Chatlet-Les-Halles along the Seine river which lead us into the center of Paris. There is so much to see and explore in Paris, we got to visit almost all of the main attractions in Paris, like: The Notre Dam, The Louvre and of course the Eiffel Tower. To properly start off our day in Paris, we had brunch in Laduree, if you have never heard of Laduree before then the best way to describe it was a Victorian macaroon, bakery and restaurant. It is renowned for its vintage feel and french exclusivity. There is a Laduree in the UK, however it is based in Harrods London and is very expensive. Laduree is best known for its award winning macaroons and designer decor, after we had our brunch we brought some cakes and macaroons to take home with us.

We left Laduree and walked along the river passing so many beautiful sites, we found a Georgian 1880 hundreds water fountain that is known in Paris as the 'fountain of lovers'. This fountain is famous for couples throwing flowers into the water and declaring their love for one another. Along our walk, we also spotted the Notre Dam, it is a huge cathedral that is famous for starring in the Disney film 'The Hunch Back Of Notre Dam'. And also something to mention that we found is the Parisian 'Love-lock Bridge', this bridge is famous for couples writing special messages on padlocks, attaching them to the bridge and throwing the key into the river. It's a beautiful place, and the atmosphere is so lovely, I would say it's defiantly somewhere to visit in Paris. To end our evening in Paris, we went to the top of the Eiffel Tower. From a distance the tower it's self doesn't actually seem that tall, but once your standing under it, its breathtaking.

Our last and final day in France way my birthday. We went back into Disney, and this time we visited the Disneyland Park. We had so much fun and lucky it was a quite day with short que times for rides, so we were able to go on everything. I think the most special thing about the Disneyland Park is the evening parade. The feels so magical watching all of my childhood characters on parade with loud music and fairy-lights, it brings out the kid in anyone...especially my boyfriend. I had a wonderful birthday and trip to France, thanks Aidan for making it so wonderful.
